Direct-sculpting in polymer clay, all of my babies are original one-of-a-kind sculpts created by hand using no molds, except for my silicone babies, reborn babies and vinyl kits which are limited editions. So when a doll is finished, a new baby is born. Each clay baby begins with an armature for the head and limbs. The clay is then applied over the armatures in serveral layers. This is a very delicate and lenghtly task.

The head and limbs are then baked and painted using heat set paints. For a silicone baby, a mold is made from the sculpt and the limb is cast in solid silicone and is painted using a special silicone paint.

For the reborn babies, which is made out of very soft vinyl, the head and limbs are painted using heat set paints made especially for vinyl.

The head and limbs are then attached to a doe suede body with joints so they can pose. The bodies are filled with polyfil,  pellets and fine glass beads for just the right amount of weight. Each baby weights between 5 to 7 pounds and is between 18 to 23 inches in length.

The hair is mohair or human hair baked directly into the scalp for my clay babies and rooted into the scalp of the silicone and reborn vinyl babies.

The baby is then ready for costuming: then my search is on to find the perfect outfit. The baby is then sprayed with my special baby scented spray to give it that newborn baby smell.

The whole baby is done with equal effect with much time into sculpting the face as well as the limbs.

Much thought and care is given to the design and creations of my babies. I try to create babies with a variety of ethnicities and facial expressions.

When sculpting, the goal I have in mind is to create a doll that will be cherish for years to come.

Please under no circumstance buy any of these dolls as a play doll. They are intended for collectors and are quite delicate. The dolls contain very small parts, magnets etc. and could be dangerous for small children.

Some of my babies may have magnets for hair decorations or pacifiers. These magnets can be very easily removed if necessary.

Caution: These magnets are very strong and should be kept away from electical appliances, computers and pacemakers.
